Children at Holy Trinity Church School are expected to attend every day when the school is in session, as long as they are fit and healthy enough to do so. We believe that the most important factor in promoting good attendance is the development of positive attitudes towards school. To this end we strive to work in partnership with parents, ensuring our school is a happy and rewarding experience for all children.
If your child is unable to attend school because of illness, please telephone the school. We will require that all absences are phoned into school. We aim to complete our check of all registers by 9:05am each day. We have an answer phone system for reporting absences, alternatively, you can speak with a member of the Office Team. Children who arrive or leave school during the school day must be signed in/out at the School Office by a parent/carer. If we have not had any contact by 9:30am then we will need to make a home visit to check that the child is safe. Unfortunately, if this is not successful or possible then our next duty of care will be to contact the police. I appreciated that calling the police may seem extreme, but the safety and wellbeing of our children is our first priority.
Please inform the school in advance if your child needs to attend a medical appointment during the school day.
We are unable to authorise leave in term time except in exceptional circumstances. If there are exceptional circumstances and you feel that you need to take your child away from their learning during the school term, a term-time leave request application needs to be completed and returned to the School Office in advance of the leave dates. This will then be considered by the Head Teacher and you will receive an outcome of this consideration as soon as possible.
